World Vision
For over 60 years, World Vision has been working towards eliminating poverty and its causes.
World Vision NZ provide relief in emergency situations, work on long-term community development projects and advocate for local and global political change to assist millions of people worldwide.
The Situation
World Vision NZ historically had its IT provided by internal support staff. After a strategic review involving external consultants, the decision to outsource the entire IT Support function was made. A Request for Proposal process was run by a Management Consultancy with the objective to migrate the existing server and IT infrastructure to a single provider, who would provide a single point of contact for all IT requests and the ongoing management of the IT estate.
The Solution
Intellium’s experience in providing a New Zealand based helpdesk function which is; responsive, service level based & staffed by qualified Engineers, meant the benefits of the outsourcing was appreciated by the wider World Vision user base. World Vision have over 100 staff across 3 locations and more than 50 volunteers who all rely on the IT infrastructure. For a fixed monthly fee, Intellium manage and maintain World Vision’s servers, network and all of the end users support needs.
The smooth transition to an outsourced model was further aided by Intellium’s breadth of knowledge across technology in general. World Vision are sophisticated users of technology and consequently have a number of technology partners such as: software vendors, telecommunication providers and consultants. Intellium sits in the middle of all of these partners ensuring all stakeholders are supported in achieving the outcome they require.
